The topic at hand is What are Global Trends? To find what trends are popular globally you will have to know what global trends are. Global trends are anything popular or well-known at a time that everyone globally follows. Global trends somehow enhance today's society outreach on certain things. Global trends indicate what is popular nowadays and seen all around the world. Global trends can range from about anything such as social media, gaming, entertainment, politics and news. What is one global trend that comes to your mind? 

Could it be the recent pandemic that no one can stop talking these days or the new wave of dance challenges and skits on the infamous TikTok. Either way something you know that is a global trend has everyone tune in. One global trend in particular I notice in recent years is the throwback fashion trend coming to life. Now the throwback fashion trend is where fashion from an earlier decade that was popular is brought back into modern-day fashion. 

These clothing I see recently usually are mom jeans, chunky sneakers, timberlands, biker shorts, birkenstocks, and fanny packs. There are so many more but these are the one I see all the time nowadays. Now I will discuss these particular fashion clothing and which decade or era they originated from and what makes them popular then and in today's society. Firstly, I will talk about mom jeans. Mom jeans were widely popular back in the 90s among many celebrities and models. These you know the type – the high waist and the loose-fitting leg that tapers just enough at the ankle, where it’s usually rolled up and topped off with a sandal or some other delicate footwear. Mom jeans are back, folks! Skinny jeans are no longer the only pants sold in stores these days, and those of us who like a little wiggle room are ecstatic to see mom jeans back on the racks. These jeans are most popular because they showcase a casual jean outfit or just something comfortable to wear inside or to go out. The trend of these jeans took a rise back in 2019. These jeans are personally one of my favorites because they are suitable for all ages and comfortable for all sizes.

Fanny packs are very popular among the youth. Fanny packs are a fashion accessory that is offered as a small purse and or small bag to hold your belongings worn on above your waist. Back in the 90s, it was often worn by women and men but men rarely wore them often but now it is worn by males preferably they wear them across their shoulders. What is most interesting about this fashion is you don't have to carry a backpack or a big purse to tote your things. 

Biker shorts have been the latest thing for the summer. Biker shorts were introduced into the world around late 80s and early 90s. Biker shorts really embodied fashion back in the days. 

The thing that chunky sneakers, birkenstocks, and timberlands all have in common is that they are shoes. These shoes have  recently been brought back from the past. Chunky sneakers and birkenstocks are really popular among women. Birkenstocks just came back in style in 2020 and also has chunky sneakers in late 2018 to early 2019. Birkenstocks were famous in the 60s and 70s. Chunky sneakers were widely known back in the 80s and 90s but soon made a comeback in the modern world. Lastly, I want to focus on timberlands. Timberlands have come back in and out of style for years. Back in the 70s, timberlands were only used for males for work purposes. Then over recent years, they have turned into a fashion trend.

Overall, these fashion trends have revolutionized how fashion is seen all over the world. The fashion that is a blast from the past brings great nostalgia to those who have experienced it.
